This series explores the relationship between representations of the figure and sexual identity using traditional oil painting/drawing techniques and embroidery. This work draws on the history of embroidery as a feminine art form to express non-binary gender and sexual identity. Using common embroidery techniques the thread was used as a drawing tool to either convey or interrupt erotic images of the male form. The dissonance between the male figures and the thread ask the viewer to question heteronormative concepts of gender and sexuality.
